Sidergamma's machine park has been enriched by a new recent acquisition: a briquetting press, which enables waste to be transformed into briquettes of recyclable material.
The briquetting press compacts the filings from our gross grinding, semi-finishing and finishing operations.

During compaction, the cooling oils present are almost totally recovered and reused. This not only saves on procurement costs but also makes an important contribution to environmental protection.
Compaction also allows a considerable reduction in storage space, which is cleaner and safer, with a consequent reduction in material handling and transport costs.
The selling price of briquettes is higher than that of chips because they are more compact and subject to less oxidation, offering a higher efficiency during melting phase.
